Dress and Leather

I love biker jackets, but I just don't know how to pull it off cool enough.  Let's face it, I am not tough, and I am not gonna pretend, so I thought why not make it feminine with a dress!!!  I picked up this leather jacket on sale at zara, it was another one of my impulsive purchases.  When the idea of pairing with dress came to me, I had to try it out!!!!

{ Happy Lunar New Year } with Red Skirt

I remember growing up, Lunar New Year's day is my happiest day of the year!  We would eat a big feast on New Year's eve with lots of chinese desserts only for new years.  Then we would light up fire crackers and fire works at mid night, which means I get to stay up later and play with fireworks.  On New Year's day, I get to wear brand new cloth, most importantly lots of red envelops from the family.  Of course it was my happiest day!!

This year is year of dragon, wearing red today would mean so much prosperity and fortune.  Many friends are also "working hard" to conceive a dragon baby for good fortune.

Happy New Year everyone!!  For this special day, I paired this vintage Missoni vest (I got a "what are you wearing look" from the hubby) with this bright red skirt!!

Color of Wine

Today, I'm wearing many of my current favorite pieces, particularly because the colors are perfect for this time of year.  The colors remind me of red wine, which is a must at any holiday gathering!

When I found these wine colored pants at Zara, I immediately fell in love with the the fit and comfort.  As I was looking for a top to pair it with, I saw my "grandma" blouse (last seen in this post) and thought, why not give it a try?   So here is another way to wear my "grandma" blouse.  What do you think?

Playing with Patterns

I got this patterned dress and the sweater for $10 each at a recent "Shop the Closet" event I hosted.  I invited all my girlfriends to bring their unwanted, good clothes to sell among friends.  A lot of people weren't able to make the event, so I was very nervous at first, but it actually turned out to be the perfect sized party for the first event.  And most importantly, we all had tons of fun!  I was actually getting a high from trying on clothes, helping girls pick out clothes, and getting a bargain!  It was truly something I love doing, and it was especially amazing to share it with close friends.

After the event, I immediately played with all my purchases, which were old to my friends, but new to me!  I really liked this combo, which plays with pattern and mixes turquoise with brown.

{ Laced }

I am a girly girl, so when lace came back in style, I was excited! I know, like everything else, it won't be in style for long, so I tried to look for an inexpensive piece. I found this blue lace dress at Zara for $59. It's not the most perfect dress, but it's good for the price. I paired it with this J-Crew inspired bib necklace, which I found on eBay for $10, and a light gold bag. I actually received a lot of compliments from coworkers on this combo.

The Colors of Autumn

When I think of the colors of Autumn, the beautiful scenery of fall foliage came to mind.  Mountains turn yellow, tan, orange, red among hint of green trees.  It's sooo gorgeous and breathtaking.  Every year around this time, I almost always take a trip somewhere to take in the short lived beauty.  I created this look after my recent trip to Storm King, Hudson Valley, NY due to it's beauty.  I don't know how to describe how beautiful and breathtaking it was with colors of tan & pink weeds, orange statues, yellow and orange trees on the field of green grass ending with blue sky above it.  I think that was nature at it's best, and I picked a perfect day to be there, as just few days later, there was much damage due to the snow storm.  I personally love this outfit as it reminds me of that day.

{ At the Office } mini series - episode 1

Fall is a great time to wear blazers, capes, tights, and ankle boots! Coincidently, these things are also very appropriate for the office, so I thought, why not start a mini-series featuring these great items as ideas for office wear.

I paired a long blazer with this dress that Julie bought for me at Urban Outfitters for $20. It's cute, comfortable, and works for the office. I am a huge fan of pairing high-end items with very inexpensive finds- when people would never think you are wearing something that only cost $5 or $10.

- Blazer: Kensie (TJ Maxx $149)
- Dress: Urban Outfitters $20
- Scarf: No Brand $10 @ Yesstyle
- Bootie: Pour La Victoire (TJ Maxx $69)
- Belt: Zara Belt $19.90
- Accessories: Chan Luu, vintage
- Handbag: Louis Vuitton

Bonus: French Nail with glitter
