{ Stripes } + Hot Pink

Did I mention I've been on the hunt for sweaters lately? I walked by this striped sweater in Forever 21, and as I passed it, my pink skirt came to mind! It was like a light bulb went on in my head, so without trying it on, I bought it. Sure enough, I was quite happy with the combo, which is perfect for a comfy fall weekend!

Fuzzy with Bling

I have been searching for fun sweaters, in preparation for what is likely to be yet another crazy winter here in NY. When it comes to sweaters, I used to stick to the basics, with simple colors and cashmere. But I always have the most fun with funky sweaters that no one else wears, so this year, I challenged myself to look for cool sweaters. I was excited to find this fuzzy, shiny (and warm) sweater-- it's fun, and I can wear it with so many things because it's white and silver!

On a side note, maybe I'm on a hunt for sweaters because I'm planning an Ugly Sweater Party for Christmas!

- Sweater: Romwe (no longer available, but they have a huge sweater selection)
- Skirt: Alexander Wang (sample sale for $40)
Jewelry: vintage rhinestone earrings and bracelet

{ Laced }

I am a girly girl, so when lace came back in style, I was excited! I know, like everything else, it won't be in style for long, so I tried to look for an inexpensive piece. I found this blue lace dress at Zara for $59. It's not the most perfect dress, but it's good for the price. I paired it with this J-Crew inspired bib necklace, which I found on eBay for $10, and a light gold bag. I actually received a lot of compliments from coworkers on this combo.

{ Nude + Black } @ Sushi Yasuda

My sister took the November babies (me, our brother and her husband) to Sushi Yasuda for our birthday celebration. I was so excited, as it is only the best sushi in town! It's also the best sushi I ever had, which is saying a lot, as I am picky about fish.

It was good, but it was not the same as my first experience when we sat next to Chef Yasuda as he showed us every kind of wild fish known to man and had us taste them. At the end, every taste bud in my mouth was touched. I will die thinking about that meal! This time, we didn't get personal attention from the chef, but had omakase (chef's selections). Still, it was delicious.

{ At The Office } mini series - episode 6

I don't ever want to be labeled as the girl in pink, as the color is so quintessentially for girls. Therefore, I have very little pink in my closet. I have items that are patterned or used for layering, but I don't own any statement pink pieces. I even try my best not to dress my daughter in pink, although it's almost impossible for little girls. For some reason, when I saw this hot pink skirt, I loved it. It's wool, it's simple, it's got pockets... it's very me. I even paired it with the only light pink top I have.

{ At The Office } mini series- episode 5

I don't usually wear high heels, but after I found this pair of super comfy sandals, I was on the hunt for more!  Because I finally realized that high heels are not always impossible.  Here I tried to brave a whole day at the office with my new-found heels from Steven Madden. I decided to go with something simple and comfortable and let the shoes be the statement piece of my outfit!  Sure enough, I got a lot of comments on my shoes! These were very comfortable, as I actually survied NYC streets.  However, I did have to watch my balance on uneven pavement.

- Top: Ann Taylor $40
- Shoes: Steve Madden Grettta on sale now for $70

The Colors of Autumn

When I think of the colors of Autumn, the beautiful scenery of fall foliage came to mind.  Mountains turn yellow, tan, orange, red among hint of green trees.  It's sooo gorgeous and breathtaking.  Every year around this time, I almost always take a trip somewhere to take in the short lived beauty.  I created this look after my recent trip to Storm King, Hudson Valley, NY due to it's beauty.  I don't know how to describe how beautiful and breathtaking it was with colors of tan & pink weeds, orange statues, yellow and orange trees on the field of green grass ending with blue sky above it.  I think that was nature at it's best, and I picked a perfect day to be there, as just few days later, there was much damage due to the snow storm.  I personally love this outfit as it reminds me of that day.

{ At The Office } mini series - episode 3

For the longest time, I didn't know how to wear a cape and look good in it, even though I love the fact that it's easy to wear, loose and comfortable. I am so glad capes are in fashion this season, and there are so many cute capes available. Here are two that I love from Zara.

However, as the cape is a trendy item, and considering NY weather these days, I don't see myself getting a lot of wear out of capes even though they are sooo cute. In the spirit of current trend, I paired an old cape I had with a green skirt for a day at the office while the weather is still somewhat warm.

- Cape: Lafayette 148
- Skirt: Diane von Furstenburg ($50 at sample sale)
- Bag: Louis Vuitton
- Shoes: Por La Victoire
Bracelets: vintage and Banana Republic
Watch: Fruitz by Philip Stein
