Carlos Miele Fashion Show

I was so excited to have the opportunity to attend a fashion show with such a gorgeous collection by Carlos Miele! Big thanks to my bff Floria and our friend Diana!!

It was definitely one of most fashionable events I have ever been to. The minute I stepped foot into Lincoln Center, I was amazed by what people were wearing and wanted to take pictures of their outfits. It's very unlike me, but I was too shy to approach anyone. Next time, I will bring my SLR camera and pretend I'm there for work.

The Show

Some hot guy across from me- wasn't too shy to take this pic!

Look at how skinny this girl's legs are! They look like arms.

I really wish I could have taken better pictures, but these are the best I could do. For the full collection, please go here.

After The Show

I met up with Floria for lunch after the show, which was a perfect ending to the event.

- Dress: Anthropologie
- Earrings: Bryant Park Market during Christmas Time (one of my favorites)

Deal of the Day - Leopard Scarfs!!!!

By: Mimi

Today's blog post was intended for my first fashion show experience with Carlos Miele.  It was an amazing experience gifted by my BFF Floria through our friend Diana!  But, I can't find my camera at the moment "as per my usual clumpsy self."  So, instead, I am sharing with you this awesome deal of the day!!

In love with Leopard scarfs, belts and shoes at the moment and these are such great deals and oh looking so good!

This scarf was also featured in my favorite blogger's post last week @ Wendy's Lookbook!!!

 H&M Leopard Scarf:  $12.95

Next time you are in H&M, look for their Leopard Scarf, there are few versions.  I purchased the version as pictured above, thanks to my cousin Christina in finding this piece and actually picking it up for me.  It's a loop scarf that can actually be worn few different ways, which I will create a "how-to: in a future post.

Fashion's Night Out

by: Mimi

This was my first time experiencing Fashion Night Out, and all I have to say is: What was I doing all those years before when I missed out??? I really didn't know what to expect, except I knew there would be giveaways and lots of people dressing for the occasion. After some research, which made the decision much harder, we ultimately decided to spend the night in the Meatpacking District.

The minute we got to 14th Street and 9th Ave, there were lots of pop up stores with loud music, so I was immediately excited!!! A stop at Alexander McQueen was a must. Drinking a free yummy cocktail around clothing worth thousands of dollars was amazing, especially since it was the legendary Alexander McQueen! We ended the night with our favorite brand, Diane Von Furstenberg, and even had a run-in with Diane herself. We brought home a super cool flip book as our first FNO souvenir. Ah...what a great night!!

The Outfit

I got lots of mixed reviews on this outfit, especially the scarf with the top. I thought I needed to add something special, instead of just wearing a top and pants, but maybe this scarf was not the right item. I was going to take it off, but i just made a thinner band at the neck instead. What do you think of my FNO outfit?

- Top: Romwe
- Pants: Topshop (on sale for $35)
- Shoes: Karin Arabian ($149 at Century 21, European Designer Shoe Department)
- Scarf: vintage
Bracelets: Chan Luu and vintage (available on Blue Fly)

Day & Nite

By: Mimi

I found this blouse on the clearance rack at Bloomies and was excited to pay 1/4 of the original price. I was shopping because I was killing time between work and dinner with my friends. Naturally, I showed the blouse to my friends at dinner, and it was totally vetoed. My friends told me to return it, as I supposedly didn't need to add a floral grandma shirt to my already overflowing closet. I refused to believe it was that bad, so the minute I got home, I tried different combos with this shirt, and here are two that I liked! I'll try out more combinations in the Fall.

  • Blouse: Joie (on sale for $46 at Bloomingdales)
  • White Shorts: Ali Ro ($40 at Sample Sale)
  • Faux Leather Pants: Trouve ($35 at Nordstrom Anniversary Sale)
  • Cream Crossbody Bag: ($70 at the street of Tokyo in Shibuya)
  • Black Bag: Chanel Medium/Large in gold hardware
  • Tan Sandals: Anthropology (on sale for $79)
  • Black Sandals: Diane von Furstenburg ($129 at TJ Maxx)
  • Necklaces: vintage
  • Sunglasses: Vouge ($50 at Loehmann's)

What do you think??? Return or Keep?

Deal of the Day!!!

As some of you may have read from my post Hotel Griffou, – while having dinner there, I encountered a waitress wearing these really cute high heels.  I couldn't help but to comment on how much I liked them and inquire about their comfort level (I imagined they must be comfortable since she’s on her feet all day!)  To my amazement she told me that she bought the sandals at Kohl's and that they were part of their exclusive SimplyVera Vera Wang line!  She also said that they were so comfortable she got 2 pairs.  Of course the minute I got home I got on the computer and ordered those sandals!  The Simply Vera Peep Toe High Heels were already on sale on the website - about $49 in black and $52 in nude (they normally retail for $69.99) but the savings didn’t stop there!   I just happened to receive a 30% Kohl’s coupon in the mail that same week so when applied at checkout the sandals came out to $35 each for me!  (Note:  Kohl’s will often have 15%, 20% and sometimes 30% off coupons that you can find online and a quick Google search should uncover.  Additionally if you link to the site through ebates.com, you can get 4% cash back.)

I’m not a girl that normally wears heels beyond 2.5 inches.  I will occasionally try out a 3 inch heel but I only really reserve those for weddings and parties.   The Simply Vera VERA WANG Peep Toe shoes have officially changed my heal wearing ways!  They were so light and had the perfect amount of arch for my feet.  They were SO comfortable I felt that I could wear them all day.  And indeed I’ve worn them to work about 5 times now and they were totally comfortable and fine to walk in on NYC streets.  The only negative is that the middle strap is slightly tight on me.  I guess I have thicker feet, which creates discomfort after wearing the shoes for awhile.  I’m hoping they will eventually stretch out.  None the less, these are still the most comfortable heels I have ever owned – I would even say more comfortable than flats for sure.  Run, don’t walk to get yourself a pair of these amazing shoes (running will be much easier on your feet anyway once you have a pair of these super comfortable heels on them!)

I don't have these, (also from SimplyVera Shoe Collection at Kohls), but they look cute, and inexpensive way to wear animal print, which is very in this Fall.
